Self esteem is the value you see yourself having in the world. If you believe yourself to be a worthy person, your self esteem is high. Self esteem is a quality related to a broad sense of personal value or self worth. A person with high self esteem at work for example, tend to have equally high belief in themselves in other areas of their life. This arises from various parts of our lives – from parents, society, friends, teachers, and the workplace. We go through a process in life. For the first year or so of our lives, we are uninhibited and full of energy. Then we are taught, begin absorbing others voices and opinions. And from that we learn that others know best instead of believing in ourselves.

The beliefs you hold about yourself often appear to be statements of fact. In reality they are based on the experiences you have had in life, and the messages that these experiences have given you about the kind of person you are.

We are not born with low self esteem. We learn to doubt ourselves and to compare ourselves with others and soon enough we accept or believe ” this is how I am”. Yet it is just a habitual way of thinking. A useless mental programme which we picked up along the way. And which is therefore possible to remove. With proven tools!
